Job summary

ByteDance in San Jose seeks a motion designer to craft and deliver motion systems for AI-driven products and real-time experiences. You will collaborate with UX, UI, and Engineering to define motion language and ensure it is implemented accurately in live products.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of motion design experience.
• Strong sense of rhythm and timing with physics-based motion.
• Proficiency with motion tools such as After Effects, Figma, ProtoPie, Rive, Lottie or Blender.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers to define motion parameters and performance boundaries.
• Degree in Animation, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or related field.
• Experience with mobile OS motion, AI product feedback systems, or real-time graphics.

• Create motion solutions for AI products and system-level experiences so motion is integrated into core product interaction
• Design natural, semantic feedback for AI Assistants, Agent workflows, and multimodal interaction scenarios
• Build system motion specifications, covering principles, rhythm, easing, and implementation standards
• Partner with UX, UI, and Engineering to ensure motion concepts are implemented accurately in live products
• Lead motion explorations for future concepts and high-impact product demonstrations

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in motion design, interaction animation, or related fields
• Exceptional sense of rhythm, timing, and physics-based motion, including the ability to explain the rationale behind motion choices
• Proficiency with motion tools such as After Effects, Figma, ProtoPie, Rive, Lottie, or Blender
• Ability to collaborate with engineers to define motion parameters and performance boundaries
• Degree in Animation, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field
• Experience with mobile OS motion, AI product feedback systems, or real-time graphics
• Strong prototyping skills to validate dynamic experiences quickly
