Meta is hiring a Motion Designer in Los Angeles, CA (onsite) to build scalable motion systems and produce marketing and brand motion content across Meta’s apps and hardware products.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, and animate motion graphics for marketing campaigns, social content, and product launches
- Turn creative briefs and brand principles into cohesive visual narratives, guiding decisions on animation, composition, typography, color, and pacing
- Ship finished assets across formats and channels while managing priorities, production details, and creative feedback across multiple projects
- Create and maintain modular motion systems, including reusable animation components and templates that allow creative variation while preserving brand consistency
- Collaborate with technical producers or engineers on API integrations and production deployment when needed
- Use expressions, scripting, procedural techniques, and data-driven animation to automate repeatable work such as content population, asset resizing, versioning, and rendering
- Apply AI-powered tools in hybrid creative workflows using prompting, context, and iteration to achieve controlled, high-quality outcomes
- Validate and refine motion systems against real production needs, assessing creative quality, reliability, and efficiency; troubleshoot failures and improve workflows from team feedback
- Document and share reusable tools, templates, and workflow instructions; organize source files and assets; apply brand, technical, and responsible AI quality checks before delivery
Requirements
- 5+ years of motion design experience creating video marketing assets, social content, or brand communications, with a portfolio showing strong animation craft and visual storytelling
- Proficiency with After Effects and relevant Adobe Creative Suite tools, including composition, color, typography, timing, and pacing
- Hands-on experience with creative coding or scripting (examples: After Effects, React, or Python) to build animations, tools, or production automations
- Experience building reusable motion templates, procedural animation setups, or creative workflows used across multiple assets or projects, with evidence of both output and the system behind it
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered creative tools such as Weavy, Krea, Runway, or similar, including integrating generated outputs into finished creative work
- Ability to work independently from a brief, manage concurrent deliverables, and collaborate with creative and technical partners in a deadline-driven setting
