Job summary

Yaskawa America, Inc. is seeking a Motion Controls Engineer - Custom CNC Machine Specialist to deliver CNC technical expertise from concept to completion for customer applications.

You will work closely with the sales team to identify value-added opportunities and enhance the utilization of Yaskawa products. The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering with 3–5 years’ experience in machine tool design and CNC processes, plus proficiency in G-code, CAD/CAM (Fusion), PLCs, and basic software tools

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical, mechanical, computer or mechatronics engineering with emphasis in controls or machines.
• 3–5 years of experience in machine tool design, tooling, user interface.
• Hands-on knowledge of CNC manufacturing processes such as milling, routing, turning, plasma/waterjet/laser cutting.

• Develop relationships with customers to foster value‑add growth opportunities.

Yaskawa is currently looking for a Motion Controls Engineer - Custom CNC Machine Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide CNC technical expertise and know-how to assist customers in the use of Yaskawa products and services to improve their application and processes. Working closely with our sales team, you will develop relationships with customers fostering “value add” growth opportunities and enhance the utilization of Yaskawa products and services. You will provide product, application, and process knowledge for projects and solutions from concept to completion.

Role

The ideal candidate will have CNC design knowledge and experience, a BS degree in electrical, mechanical, computer or mechatronics engineering with emphasis in controls or machines. We are seeking candidates who have 3 to 5 years of experience involving Machine Tool design, tooling, user interface. Experience necessary for this role includes:

• Hands on knowledge of at least one CNC manufacturing process, such as milling, wood routing and turning, plasma cutting, waterjet or laser cutting
• Software proficiency with G-code programming and with CAD/CAM software suites such as Fusion
• Programming proficiency with PLCs (ladder logic, IEC61131-3), motion control systems, servos and user interfaces
• Experience or exposure to software development tools for C# and Windows WPF (tools such as IDEs, programmer’s editors, source control and issue tracking systems)
