Salient Motion is hiring an entry-level Motion Control Engineer to design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware powering motion control and motor drive products. You will work with senior engineers to translate control ideas into robust, production-ready code in C within a fast-paced aerospace setting.

You will grow in motor control concepts, real-time firmware, and control-loop design, contributing to architecture decisions, debugging, and validation in the lab while embracing rigorous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 2-4 years of embedded firmware experience related to Motion Control.
• Strong C programming and firmware architecture knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for motion control and motor drive products in C.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions for control firmware modules focusing on maintainability and real-time performance.
• Translate control algorithms into production-quality firmware with senior engineers.
• Participate in code reviews, static analysis, and unit/integration testing to uphold firmware quality.
• Support bring-up, debugging, and validation of control firmware on hardware in the lab.
• Document firmware architecture, module interfaces, and design decisions.
• Assist in specifying and executing firmware verification test plans.
