Job summary

Shriners Hospitals for Children is seeking a Motion Analysis Center Engineer to operate, maintain, and collect data within the MAC, supporting clinical care and research initiatives. You will work under the MAC engineer to obtain CMLA accreditation, calibrate equipment, collect raw data, and generate reports.

The role includes assisting with development of new clinical programs and training staff and students, ensuring proper use of equipment and lab protocol.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • M.S. or higher in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering, Kinesiology, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of motion analysis and/or biomechanics experience.
  • 2+ years of programming experience (Python, R).
  • Familiarity with Vicon Nexus motion capture ecosystems.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains and maintains CMLA accreditation.
  • Maintains competency in equipment calibration, collection of raw data, processing of data and report generation.
  • Assist System MAC Engineer and Development Specialist with development and integration of new clinical programs.
  • Provides orientation and training to new therapists, technicians, students and volunteers to ensure proper use of equipment and data processing per lab protocol.
  • Functions as a role model within the healthcare team, promoting a positive, organized and safe work environment.

Education

B.S. in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering, Kinesiology, or related field
M.S. or higher preferred in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering, Kinesiology, or related field
