Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD seeks a Mother Baby Nurse for a 65-bed unit to provide skilled, compassionate care to mothers and newborns in couplet care rooms. Role emphasizes assessment, care planning, interventions, and education, with emphasis on postpartum recovery and co-morbidities. Not a new grad position.

The role requires ASN, Maryland RN licensure, and BLS; BSN/MSN preferred. Pay ranges from $37.88 to $54.19 hourly, with comprehensive benefits and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN) or higher.
• RN licensure in Maryland or Compact state; BLS required.
• BSN/MSN preferred.
• Certifications may be required per departmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate postpartum and neonatal care using AWHONN guidelines.
• Provide lactation support at the bedside and patient education.
• Perform newborn screening and standard lab work as part of routine care.
• Collaborate with physicians for patient advocacy and care adjustments.
• Maintain infection control techniques for mother-baby dyad.

Education

ASN

BSN or MSN preferred

Maryland Board RN licensure or Compact state

BLS certification (NRP within 6 months of hire)
