Job summary

Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Birthplace to provide direct patient care overnight. Responsibilities include teaching families, responding to condition changes, and ensuring patient safety during antepartum and postpartum periods.

The role requires an active RN license, with BSN preferred, and certification in BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring within specified timelines. Full benefits and a comprehensive staff support system are offered.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BSN degree preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• Basic Fetal Monitoring knowledge required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel in the Birthplace.
• Respond quickly to changes in condition and response to treatment.
• Provide a safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Utilize the chain of command to ensure well-being and appropriate care to newborns and mothers during antepartum and postpartum.
