Job summary

Mosquito Joe is hiring a Mosquito Control Technician to work outdoors, protect families from mosquitoes and other pests, and deliver exceptional customer service. Training is provided and licensing help is offered where required.

No prior experience needed; this position is college-student friendly and focuses on seasonal outdoor work with a franchise vehicle provided and opportunities to earn commissions based on productivity.

Qualifications

• Able to walk with 65 lb backpack for extended periods.
• Wear protective gear and uniform.

The duration of a mosquito season varies by location. This allows you to maximize your work/life balance and spend time on other passions.

We are not a standard, run-of-the-mill pest control company. We have it so much better. We only treat outdoor pests like mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas – no crawl spaces, no attics, and no scary sheds to deal with.

Instead, you get to work outside, drive a sweet company ride, and get a quick workout. You will make some bugs take a long nap and leave the customer to make fun memories outside again!

• Conquering Mosquitoes – Yep, you are there to wage war on mosquitoes and other pesky insects that can ruin outdoor fun. Our customers depend on you to remove and repel these enemies from their yards and property.
• Doing It with Style – As the face of the Mosquito Joe brand, you bring professionalism by following our Mosquito Joe process. In addition, you go above and beyond to deliver an unforgettable customer service experience.
• Communicating with the Local Office– You are the boots on the ground but will be in close communication with the office. This is key for making sure you have the right supplies to do the job and ensuring you know which property to treat!

To Succeed in this Role as a Mosquito Control Technician…

• Always bring your A-game. Remember, you are always on a public stage. You might think no one is home or watching, but you might impress someone with your pest control professionalism!
• Take the training seriously. You will learn the proper guidelines for using the products, and we will even help you get licensed where required.
• Stay on schedule. We will give you the schedule and timing for the day (usually around 15 appointments).
• Do it right the first time. You do not want the customer to call you back out to do it over.
• Leave the whining at home. Some days the work will be hard. It will be hot. You will not want to work. Then your work ethic will kick in, and you will show up with a smile.
• Think observantly and creatively when assessing each unique property. Every property is different, with different problems to solve.

Job Requirements…

There are a few minimum requirements for our Mosquito Control Technician:

• You must be able to lift and carry a backpack, which weighs 65 lbs. (This will be your strength training workout.)
• You must be able to walk with a 65 lb. backpack for a lengthy period of time. (This will be your cardio workout. You can cancel your gym membership)
• You must wear protective gear and a uniform. (You will be protecting yourself while looking good in uniform)
• You must be able to handle the summer heat. (It is like being paid to go to the sauna.)
• And finally, you must not have moral qualms about being a pest assassin.

Benefits & Pay…

The pay for this position is $14+ per hour and depends on whether you have prior experience in this or other similar mosquito or pest control positions. Commissions and bonuses paid based on your productivity.
