Job summary

The Symicor Group is seeking a Mortgage Underwriter/Operations Supervisor for the greater Memphis, TN market. The successful candidate will support strategic objectives related to real estate mortgage products and services, focusing on customer experience, efficient processes, vendor management, trend reporting, and team development.

This position offers a salary up to $110K and a competitive benefits package, with relocation support available. Note: this is not a remote role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or business administration.
• Eight or more years of related experience at a bank, credit union, or other financial institution.
• Encompass administration experience is preferred.
• Loan Closing experience is preferred.
• DE Direct Endorsement Underwriter (DE) required.
• Preferred knowledge of Jack Henry & Symitar.
• Strong Analytical skills.
• Strong decision-making and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/duties.
• Results-driven, service-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and mentorship skills.
• Current with Investor and Regulatory Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day loan production activities for first and second mortgages and departmental oversight.
• Maintain reporting data related to real estate lending, including production, exceptions and error reporting, quality control, budgeting, and trend analysis.
• Maintain approval limits and monitor underwriting decisions for loan officers; act as loan officer for policy exceptions.
• Function as a business lead and/or project manager on departmental or organization-wide projects.
• Manage, coach, motivate, and develop the Team Lead and other department staff; set goals and direction.
• Identify and manage vendor relationships to ensure cost effectiveness and value.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and Banking regulations.
• Perform additional duties as required.

The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Mortgage Underwriter/Operations Supervisor role located in the greater Memphis, TN market. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Bank?s strategic objectives as they relate to real estate mortgage products and services. This includes customer experience, efficient processes, process improvements, vendor management, trend reporting, and team development.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $110K and an excellent benefits package. Relocation support is also available. (This position is not remote)

Mortgage Underwriter/Operations Supervisor responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day loan production activities of first and second mortgages and departmental oversight, including vendor management, internal control and process monitoring, and quality checks.
• Maintaining key reporting data as it relates to real estate lending, including but not limited to, daily production, exception and error reporting, quality control, budgeting, and trend analysis.
• Maintaining approval limits and monitoring the quality of underwriting decisions for loan officers. Acting as a loan officer for policy exceptions, second opinions, and employee loans.
• Functioning as a business lead and/or project manager on departmental and/or organization-wide projects. Contributing expertise in his/her assigned area, executes deliverables and ensures that the Project Team completes project deliverables as outlined based on the project scope and business requirements.
• Managing, coaching, motivating, and developing the Team Lead and other department staff, including ongoing in-house and outside educational opportunities. Establishing goals and setting direction for the real estate lending department. Identifies and implements workflow efficiencies to provide a superior member experience.
• Identifying and managing vendor relationships and products. Periodic review of vendor relationships to ensure cost effectiveness and product/service value.
• Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures and Banking regulations.
• Performs additional duties as required.
