VyStar Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Resolution Specialist to contact members and reduce loan losses through strategic collections and loss mitigation. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and knowledge of mortgage regulatory practices.

The incumbent will document activities, coordinate with managers, and support customer financial counseling. The position emphasizes compliance with FDCPA and related laws, with opportunities for training and professional development

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; continued education in banking regulations encouraged.
  • Minimum two years’ mortgage loan collections experience with a financial institution or mortgage company.
  • Familiarity with FDCPA, bankruptcy laws, FCRA, and mortgage servicing guidelines is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Review delinquent mortgage accounts and determine appropriate collection activity.
  • Contact members to discuss delinquency and propose solutions.
  • Obtain information and arrange payments; follow up regularly.
  • Skip trace to locate members and recommend legal action when needed.
  • Document activity in core collections systems and update portals per guidelines.
  • Cross-sell VyStar services and support loss mitigation actions.
