Job summary

Metro City Bank in Duluth, GA is seeking a Mortgage Loan Servicer to support day-to-day servicing operations, including handling escrow accounts, reviewing loan documents, and preparing routine notices.

You will collaborate with Mortgage Servicing teams to ensure timely payments, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with BSA/AML regulations.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree with Accounting major or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic software tools.
  • Understanding of BSA/AML regulations and requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Review loan documents and initiate funding for loan closing.
  • Book new loans and create new loan files.
  • Monitor escrow accounts and follow up with agents and tax authorities.
  • Make insurance and real estate tax payments from escrow.
  • Perform annual escrow analysis and issue statements.
  • Monitor delinquent loans and send notices as needed.
  • Process paid off loans and prepare documents for recordation.

Description

Title: Mortgage Loan Servicer

Department: Mortgage

Reports to: Mortgage Loan Servicing Manager

  • Reviews loan documents and initiates funding for loan closing
  • Performs booking of all new loans and creates new loan files
  • Monitors escrow accounts and initiates timely follow-up with agents and/or tax collectors
  • Makes insurance premiums and real estate tax payments from escrow accounts
  • Performs annual escrow analysis and mails statement and surplus refund checks
  • Monitors delinquent loans and prepares appropriate notices including demand letter
  • Monitors and records withdrawn and declined loans
  • Process paid off loans by preparing all necessary documents for recordation of Satisfaction of Deed and overpayment refund checks if any
  • Mails mortgage payment due notices and process payments
  • Scans loan documents including HUD, Note, Deed of Trust, Satisfaction of Deed, Title Policy, etc.
  • Reviews and pays state required recording fees and vendor fees
  • Prepares mortgage loan pipeline and board meeting reports
  • Performs other mortgage servicing activities to include, but not be limited to, account research, payment adjustments and various loan maintenance needs
  • Performs all duties in compliance with BSA/AML regulations and requirements
  • Obtains adequate data for CIP on all wire and money instrument transactions
  • Monitors and reports suspicious activity to the BSA Officer

  • Exhibits adequate knowledge of the following: CIP, Account Risk Assessment, Customer Due Diligence, CTR, OFAC, Cash purchase of monetary instruments, Originating Bank, Beneficiary Bank, TIN, NRA, HIDTA, HIFCA and SAR
  • Exhibits adequate knowledge of the following concepts: placement, layering, and integration
  • Familiar with the reporting requirements pertaining to currency transactions, cash purchase monetary instruments, wire transfers and opening of an account
  • Exhibits adequate knowledge of regulations governing consumer laws pertaining to deposits or loans products
  • Knows where and to whom any "suspicious" activity should be reported
