Job summary

PrimeLending in Lexington, KY seeks a Mortgage Loan Originator to market financial products and build relationships with realtors and builders. You will guide applicants from pre-qualification through closing, collect and verify documents, and ensure compliance with mortgage guidelines.

The role requires 6 months of loan originator experience, strong communication, data handling, and community involvement. A valid license and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and appropriate licenses as required by state.
• Valid driver’s license and current automobile liability insurance
• Minimum of 6 months loan originator experience
• Demonstrated judgment and decision-making ability
• Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills
• Ability to quickly assess and process large amounts of data
• Ability to use appropriate AU software technology
• Must be active in the community and in job-related organizations to enhance beneficial contacts
• Continue expanding knowledge of industry and organizational issues
• Ability to interact with regional and corporate departments, realtors, sales agents, builders, appraisers, and others

Responsibilities

• Market and promote PrimeLending’s financial products
• Establish and maintain relationships with realtors, bank officers, builders, and new home sales representatives
• Visit subdivisions as required when partnering with the lead/primary loan originator
• Handle loan volume as directed by the team lead/primary loan originator
• Develop working knowledge of company products and private and government-insured mortgage guidelines
• Monitor customer interactions and interface with all parties from application through closing
• Counsel and pre-qualify potential home buyers
• Collect and analyze customer income, assets, investments, and debts
• Schedule appointments with potential customers
• Obtain support documents and appropriate fees, collect additional documentation, and communicate loan status
• Obtain remaining or uncollected loan documentation after closing
• Negotiate loan terms and conditions with customers
• Stay current on rules and regulations for private and government-insured mortgages
• Maintain a professional image and follow company policies and procedures
• Meet customer service standards established by management
• Perform other functions as needed
