Job summary

Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago is seeking a Loan Originator to originate NHS/NLS loan programs and pre-qualify prospective homebuyers. You will market products, schedule interviews, and coordinate with the Loan Specialist for processing.

The ideal candidate has outside mortgage sales experience, holds a State LO license or will obtain it within 45 days, and can travel with a valid driver's license. In-office schedule is required with occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred).
• Minimum 2-3 years of outside sales experience originating mortgage loans.
• Licensed Loan Originator with the State of Illinois preferred or meet all registration/certification requirements within 45 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Market NHS/NLS loan products/grants/services to community-based, business, real estate, and financial entities to raise awareness.
• Originate loans for all NHS/NLS programs and schedule interviews with customers.
• Pre-qualify potential homebuyers and refer to NHS resources for education.
• Provide homebuyer counseling for immediate or short-term buyers.
• Develop relationships with external entities to generate leads and access to borrowers.
• Serve as liaison throughout the application process and monitor progress.
