Job summary

Texana Bank, N.A. seeks a Mortgage Loan Originator to develop relationships and guide applicants through the residential loan process. You will assess borrower needs, explain loan options, and ensure compliant, timely closings.

Reporting to the Mortgage Branch Manager, you will originate loans, gather financials, and collaborate with processors and underwriters to meet productivity and quality goals while serving customers across East Texas and Arkansas.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
• Valid NMLS license as required by state and federal regulations.
• Experience in mortgage lending or financial services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans in accordance with company guidelines and lending regulations.
• Conduct borrower interviews to gather financial information and assess eligibility.
• Evaluate applicant financial documents to determine loan programs.
• Educate clients on available loan products, terms, and procedures.
• Submit complete loan applications to processing for approval and underwriting.
• Maintain accurate records in the loan origination system.
• Ensure timely follow-up with clients, processors, and underwriters.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth loan closings.

Position Summary

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree preferred
• Valid NMLS license as required by state and federal regulations
• Previous experience in mortgage lending or financial services preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office tool
