Job summary

REV FCU is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator in Summerville, SC to interview applicants, pre-qualify and manage the full loan application process.

Strong knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA and Jumbo loans, excellent communication, and adherence to regulatory requirements are essential. You will maintain referral networks and represent the credit union in the community.

Qualifications

• Interview applicants and perform pre-qualification and pre-approval.
• Complete application and gather supporting documentation.
• Review regulatory disclosures with borrower.
• Maintain existing and generate new sources of referral business.
• Present to REV FCU branches and educate staff on Real Estate Lending.
• Quote rates and secure pricing with the Secondary Marketing Department.
• Input application data into Loan Origination Software (LOS).
• Use AUS (LP, DU, GUS) to obtain credit recommendations.
• Communicate loan status to all parties involved.
• Manage loan pipeline and ensure accuracy of current status.
• Abide by REV policies and procedures.
• Participate in REV sponsored events and area association events.
• Contribute to Real Estate Office sales meetings.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Providing service to applicants and prospective customers seeking a home loan, including interviewing, pre-qualification and pre-approval.
• Completing application and gathering supporting documentation.
• Reviewing and completing regulatory disclosures with borrower.
• Reviewing and completing regulatory disclosures with borrower.
• Maintaining existing and generating new sources of referral business.
• Maintaining a presence in REV FCU branches and educating staff regarding Real Estate Lending
• Quoting interest rates and securing pricing through the Secondary Marketing Department.
• Inputting application data into Loan Origination Software (LOS).
• Utilizing automated underwriting systems (AUS) to obtain credit recommendations.
• Communicating with all parties, both internal and external, regarding the status of the loan and relaying information to all interested parties.
• Managing his/her pipeline of loans to verify accuracy of the current loan status.
• Acknowledging and abiding by REVs Policies and Procedures.
• Participating in REV sponsored events, and area association events.
• Actively participating in all aspects of the Real Estate Office sales meetings.
• Representing the Credit Union with active participation in approved community outreach functions for the purpose of enhancing our image and developing new business opportunities.

Skills & Qualifications

Education/Certification & Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience originating Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo loans
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of real estate lending criteria, compliance, federal/state regulations
• Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficient with loan originator systems, Encompass Software experience is preferred
• Proficient with AUS (LP, DU, GUS)
• Prior builder experience strongly preferred
• Realtor relationships and book of business required
• First-time homebuyer experience a plus
