Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate loans in a remote territory across VA locations including Arlington, Fairfax, McLean, Centreville. The role requires NMLS registration, strong sales skills, and the ability to work off-site.

You will manage whole loan processes from application to underwriting with time spent away from bank locations. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in mortgage sales, deep knowledge of underwriting standards, and effective communication.

Qualifications

  • NMLS registration under S.A.F.E. Act; comply with all regulatory requirements.
  • 2+ years of Mortgage, Sales, or Real Estate experience.
  • Knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of mortgage insurers and lenders.

Responsibilities

  • Originate mortgage loans in assigned territory; take applications and conduct preliminary underwriting reviews.
  • Submit loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval; follow up for required documents.
  • Spend at least 50% of time conducting sales activities away from U.S. Bank locations.

Takes applications, conducts preliminary underwriting reviews, submits loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval. Follows-up to ensure that documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner from appropriate sources. Incumbents are customarily and regularly engaged in making and soliciting loan sales and conducting sales-related activities away from U.S. Bank locations. Incumbents are expected to spend at least 50% of their time conducting their activities away from U.S. Bank locations. Required Qualifications: -National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E.
