Responsibilities

Mortgage Loan Opener role focused on file quality review of submitted files and ordering loan services as required by the loan program and investor(s). Ensure mortgage files and all applicable documents are complete, organized, and accurate to enable quicker loan processing and a positive client experience.

Key Accountabilities

• Order loan services such as flood determination, title, and tax transcripts as required for the loan program and investor(s).
• Ensure flood determination is delivered to borrowers according to internal procedures and Federal Regulations.
• Review and analyze Automated Underwriting Services (AUS) findings.
• Identify and file supporting loan documentation in correct placeholders.
• Accurately complete the file quality checklist.
• Maintain internal service level agreements.

Key Competencies for Position

Operational Knowledge and Organizational Skills

• Working knowledge of various loan programs offered by Old National Bank, including FHA, VA, USDA, and Construction-to-Permanent loans.
• Ability to read and analyze AUS findings and accurately apply that information to loan scenarios.
• High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and function accurately under deadlines.

Communication Skills

• Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Follow internal procedures and job aids.
• Effectively work as part of a team.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of previous mortgage experience.
• Experience with Ellie Mae Encompass preferred.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to self-direct, prioritize, and manage changing priorities and deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts in simplistic terms.
• Strong attention to detail.
