Job summary

Newrez LLC is seeking a Mortgage Consultant to originate a variety of loan types focused on servicing our existing customers. You will respond to leads by phone, determine client needs, and present suitable mortgage solutions.

You’ll guide applicants through the process, collect required documents, and work toward monthly sales targets in a fast-paced environment. The role requires origination experience in mortgage or banking, a valid NMLS license, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Origination experience in the mortgage or banking industry required.
• 2+ years origination experience.
• Active NMLS license.
• Solid understanding of appraisals, title reports and product guidelines.
• Experience utilizing persuasive communication skills, inside sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Originate purchase and refinance loans by responding to company-provided leads via phone from various sources.
• Engage with consumers, determine needs, and offer appropriate products.
• Take mortgage loan applications by phone and prepare loan proposals.
• Obtain information to close the loan in a timely manner, including credit reports and income verification.
• Meet individual monthly sales goals.
• Stay informed of developing trends in mortgage industry.
• Maintain compliance with the NewRez Code of Conduct.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Description

Primary Function

The Mortgage Consultant is responsible originating a variety of different types of loans all focused on servicing our existing customers.

Principal Duties

• Originate purchase and refinance loans by responding to company-provided leads via phone in a timely manner from: internet, direct mail campaigns, referrals, or other special marketing campaigns
• Engage with consumers, determine their needs, and offer the appropriate products
• Take mortgage loan applications by phone and prepare effective loan proposals
• Obtain all necessary information to close the loan in a timely manner, including but not limited to credit reports, income verification, appraisals etc.
• Meet individual monthly sales goals
• Stay informed of developing trends in the mortgage industry
• Maintain compliance with the NewRez Code of Conduct
• Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Origination experience in the mortgage or banking industry required
• 2+ years' origination experience
• Active NMLS license
• A solid understanding of appraisals, title reports and product guidelines
• Experience utilizing persuasive communication skills, inside sales experience preferred.
