Job summary

The Salvation Army Wisconsin & Upper Michigan Division is seeking an Aquatics Fitness Instructor to lead water aerobics in a welcoming aquatic center. You will design engaging classes, monitor safety and assist with check-in and attendance for up to 18 hours per week.

Responsibilities include class preparation, orientation and equipment upkeep, while promoting proper techniques and fitness education in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience teaching group exercise; aquatic environment preferred.
• OR - Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead water aerobics classes that are safe, fun, energetic and motivating for all skill levels.
• Educate participants on safe exercise techniques and monitor safety.
• Record attendance and ensure drop-in fees are paid when applicable.
• Prepare music, equipment and handouts for each class.
• Assist with aquatic fitness assessments, orientations and tours.
• Maintain safety and upkeep of facilities and equipment.
