Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent work experience on a news broadcast.
• Demonstrated interest in news and current events.
• Top-notch written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Discretion and professionalism in protecting the privacy of on-air talent.
• Forward-thinking and dependable, with the ability to manage extensive travel and shifting priorities.
• Willingness to work early mornings, flexible hours (including overnights), holidays, and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily administrative and logistical support to on-air talent, including managing calendars, schedules, travel arrangements, and on-the-road coordination
• Prepare briefing materials and script packets for morning broadcasts
• Assist during the live show with script running and production support
• Screen and organize viewer correspondence and follow up as needed
• Support news desk operations, including research, fact checking, and assistance during breaking news and special reports
• Help gather story elements, research feature pieces, develop story pitches, and log material with producers
• Attend editorial meetings
• Maintain discretion, professionalism in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
