Job summary

Child Development Schools Arkansas is seeking a part-time Assistant Teacher for the 6:30am–10:00am shift in Conway. You will support the Lead Teacher with age-appropriate activities, help maintain a safe and organized classroom, and engage with children during learning moments.

You will build relationships with families, observe and note developmental progress, and participate in daily classroom documentation. The position includes benefits and a path for professional development.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Genuine care for children and a commitment to their safety and well-being.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with families.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children.
• A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education and prior experience in a licensed childcare center are a plus, but not required. We hire for character and train for skill.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements.
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication.
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports.
