Riverbend School invites applicants to a two-year Montessori Teacher Training Fellowship in Natick, MA. Fellows gain hands-on teaching experience from toddler through 8th grade while living on-site in provided housing and receiving mentorship from master teachers.

Participants complete Montessori coursework each summer and meet certification requirements during the two-year program, culminating in a transition to a lead teaching role at the school.

Riverbend’s Montessori Teacher Training Fellowship is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for early career teachers. Fellows are introduced to the world of Montessori education at our toddler through 8th grade school in the Boston Metrowest area. Our beautiful South Natick campus and fellowship house are the perfect setting to launch a meaningful career as a Montessori teacher.

About the Teacher Training Fellowship

Two-Year Paid Fellowship

• Hands-on Montessori teaching experience
• Mentorship from master Montessori teachers
• Stipend and benefits including health insurance & school vacations
• Coursework completed each June through August
• Meet all certification requirements during 2 school years as a Fellow

School-Provided Housing

• Located less than a mile from the main campus in South Natick
• Private room and newly renovated shared living space with fellow aspiring teachers
• Furnished based on fellows’ specific needs

Throughout the two-year fellowship program, participants gain increasing confidence and responsibility as they master the skills of a Montessori educator. Their experience at Riverbend prepares them for a rewarding career in the classroom.

Year One

• June: Move into Fellowship house in Natick.
• June through August: Attend in-person Montessori training classes and complete required coursework.
• September through June: Participate in a paid fellowship, working and learning alongside master Montessori teachers.

Year Two

• June through August: Attend in-person Montessori training classes and complete required coursework.
• September through June: Participate in a paid fellowship, taking on increasing responsibility to assume lead teaching duties.
• June & Beyond: Celebrate completion of the Fellowship Program and transition into a new school role.

The Fellowship House

The Fellowship house is near our satellite nature campus in beautiful South Natick, Massachusetts, less than a mile drive from our main campus. The house accommodates three to four Fellows, featuring private bedrooms and shared living and kitchen space in a recently renovated two-story home. It’s an ideal location for new teachers to connect with each other throughout their Fellowship experience.

Do Fellows need a car?

Yes, personal transportation is required for travel to the main campus as well as the Montessori training centers.
