Job summary

Needham Montessori School is seeking a conscientious Teaching Assistant to support daily classroom activities in Needham, MA. You will work under the Lead Teacher and Director to ensure a calm, organized, and joyful learning environment for each child.

Responsibilities include assisting with lesson preparation, guiding transitions, maintaining clean spaces, and communicating with staff about student needs. A High School diploma and an Early Education Certificate are valued for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality for children & their families.
• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
• Ability to model quality behavior for children in accordance with school practices
• Ability to effectively communicate with children and assist with their needs
• Must have Early Education Certificate

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a clean and hygienic classroom environment.
• Monitoring consumable classroom items and replacing as needed
• Assist in classroom maintenance.
• Assist children with the direction of the Lead Teacher during transition times such as outdoor preparation.
• Learning school procedure and implementing when appropriate.
• Monitoring children as needed during nap time, lunch time, playground use, etc. in accordance with school policy
• Assist the Lead Teacher in preparation of classroom materials as directed.
• Attendance of monthly staff meetings.
• Communicate with Lead Teacher and Director as needed regarding the children.
