Job summary

Sunset Montessori School, a 46-year-old Montessori program, seeks experienced teacher assistants with a valid DCF staff credential to work with children ages 1.5-6. The role involves assisting the Lead teacher, preparing lessons, and supporting the Montessori curriculum.

The position can be full-time, part-time, or annual (including summer), with a minimum of 20–30 hours per week. English proficiency is required, and training opportunities will be provided to meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• DCF staff certificate required to work with preschool aged children
• Montessori certification or ability to train-immediately—we will train
• Ability to work well with families and other team members
• Experience as a Montessori teacher assistant is a plus
• S/he must be fully English proficient

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead teacher with curriculum implementation and lesson planning
• Prepare lessons and materials and support Montessori activities
• Help with all facility needs and daily operations
• Participate in parent and staff meetings pertaining to programs served
• Support summer programs and be flexible with hours
