Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in Westfield, NJ is hiring a Teacher Toddler/Preschool to join a team that nurtures the whole child. You will implement the Montessori approach, plan activities, and monitor progress in a supportive, collaborative environment.

This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with opportunities for professional development, employee benefits, and a 65% childcare discount. Final compensation reflects experience and credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required (Elementary Education preferred)
• Montessori Experience (preferred)
• NAMC (Preferred or willing to obtain within first year of employment)
• Ability to communicate with parents effectively and professionally.
• Experience with Lesson planning and development
• Ability to multitask and function in an ever-changing environment

Responsibilities

• Formalize lesson plans on a weekly basis for the upcoming instructional period.
• Relate instructional objectives to curriculum standards and demonstrate effective decision-making concerning instructional goals.
• Determine students' performance using both informal and formal assessments and observations.
• Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program.
• Use a variety of instructional materials, including contextual, supplemental, teacher-constructed, and teaching bulletin boards, as well as audio-visual aids, hands-on activities, discovery-based learning, and activity-based learning.
• Maintains accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for all assigned students.
• Train and supervise a teacher assistant within the classroom.
• Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss the child's progress.
• Attends Open House, Back to School Night, Teacher In-Service days, and all weekly staff meetings and weekly teacher curriculum meetings
