Job summary

Montessori Children’s House in Providence, RI seeks a Lower Elementary teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The teacher will deliver core Montessori elementary curriculum, use Montessori materials, foster inquiry, independence, and respect, supervise students, and maintain an organized, inspiring environment.

The candidate should have AMS/AMI/MACTE Elementary credential and a Bachelor’s in education, plus strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

AMS, AMI or MACTE Elementary credential is required.
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field is required.
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Experience working with children ages 6-12.

Responsibilities

Prepare and present engaging lessons using Montessori materials and method.
Teach core academic subjects within the Montessori elementary curriculum.
Foster inquiry, independence, accountability and respect.
Supervise and support students throughout the school day.
Maintain a well-prepared, organized, and inspiring environment.
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, development, and classroom experiences.
Contribute to a classroom culture based consistently in curiosity, respect and growth.
Collaborate closely with fellow faculty and staff to support student success and school initiatives.
