Job summary

This position is a regional position and can be housed in ( Fort Lauderdale ).

The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) isthe state of Florida’s social services agency. The agency oversees services for child safety, fostering, adoption, domestic violence, adult protective services, refugees, homelessness, mental health, substance abuse, childcare providers, humantraffickingand publicassistance. Within DCF, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH) Program office is recognized as the single state authority for substance abuse and mental health services. The Office of SAMH is statutorily responsible for the planning and administration of all publicly funded substance abuse and mental health services,designatingBaker Act Receiving facilities, and licensing substance abuse providers.

This is a highly responsible and professional position that will serve asan OPS Monitoringand Technical Assistance Analyst. This position will collaborate with each section within the program office and berequiredto use independent judgement, take initiative in carrying out duties and responsibilities and should be extraordinarily detail oriented.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Providing related technicalassistanceto Regional and HQ SAMH staff, Managing Entities, as well as relevant stakeholders, professional organizations, and other state agencies, in person.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on the Managing Entity Continuing Oversight Teamas specified in Section 287.057(26), if applicable.
• Responsible for the compliance technicalassistanceand monitoring activities, in person; ensure technicalassistanceand training is provided related to SAMH programs.
• Responsible for the regional Readiness Monitoring.
• Conduct compliance monitoring of subrecipients by providing input to a monitoring plan that ensures adequate coverage to targeted risk factors,participatein developingthe scope of monitoring tools to ensure consistent andaccuratemethods, or recording monitoring activities and outcomes. Subrecipient monitoring may include desk reviews or thorough onsite monitoring.
• Provide technicalassistancein compliance with program requirements.
• Draft, route, and track correspondence.
• Performs other duties asrequiredto meet program and departmental goals andobjectives.

Emergency Response

In response to emergency events, the incumbent may be required to work irregular hours, to work more than 8 hours per day, to work extended periods (including weekends and holidays), to work at locations other than their official headquarters, and to perform duties in addition to those outlined in the position description.Deploy to communities affected by natural disasters within 24-48 hours of impact torepresentthe organization to promote and implement post-disaster services.

• Assess the impact, needs andassistwith the development of a response strategy and goals for the impacted community and implement disaster response plans.
• Coordinate psychological and mental health resources and services for individuals, first responders, and communitiesimpactedby disasters.
• Provide critical information to the Regional Director and Director of Regional Operations and Initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two years ’experience working in the field of behavioral services.
• One year of experience writing formal business communications, including emails.
• Two years of experience implementing and managing complex projects.
• Abachelor’sdegree from a college or university and four years of professional experience in a behavioral health, public administration, or public health field is preferred.
• Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
