Job summary

Amity Foundation is seeking compassionate Monitor personnel to direct and safely supervise students 24 hours a day within our community programs. This role supports inmate-related services and provides training opportunities in the field.

Responsibilities include supervising daytime/evening activities, handling emergencies, and maintaining documentation. Candidates must hold a High School Diploma or equivalent and First Aid/CPR certification, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • First Aid and CPR certification required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of ethnic and cultural differences within criminal justice populations.
  • Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of incarceration.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises students during daytime and evening hours and notifies staff of any signs of substance abuse or overdoses.
  • Supervise students’ daily activities and take supervisory responsibilities in absence of other staff.
  • Document and monitor regular bed checks; communicate with other monitors about daily activities or disturbances.
  • Serve as advisor and role model; prevent and intervene in student altercations and incidents.
  • Conduct and practice emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining facility grounds and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Manage critical incidents and incident reporting during shifts; upload clinical documentation.
  • Participate in community activities related to the position and attend additional training as needed.
  • Administer First Aid and CPR during emergencies in accordance with regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Position:

As Monitor,you will be directing and safely supervising students 24 hours a day.

What You Will Do:
  • Supervises students during daytime and evening hours and notifies staff of any symptoms or signs of substance abuse of students and/or drug overdoses.
  • Supervise students’ daily activities and assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of other staff.
  • Documents and monitors regular bed checks as required. Communicate with other monitors in regards to daily activities or disturbances.
  • Serves as an advisor and positive role model for students. Prevents and intervenes in student altercations and incidents.
  • Conducts and practices emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining facility grounds and keeping equipment in proper working condition Assist in maintaining facility and equipment clean, orderly, and proper working condition.
  • Conducts and practices emergency evacuation procedures
  • Responsible for Critical Incidents and Incident reporting when occurs during scheduled shift. Up-loads clinical supportive documentation (i.e.: motivation logs, intensions forms, etc.).
  • Participates in community activities as it relates to the position and attends additional training as needed.
  • Administers First Aid and CPR during emergencies in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Knowledge of ethnic and cultural differences within criminal justice populations.
  • Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of incarceration; appreciation for the behavioral, psychological, physical, and social effects of incarceration
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.
