Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood, CA is seeking a Monitor Tech for per diem night shifts to support the Monitor/Telemetry unit. The role involves monitoring cardiac rhythms via direct monitors, transcribing physician orders when needed, and assisting with unit records and supplies to support patient care.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, current BCLS, and a Monitor Tech certification or related rhythm interpretation credentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current certification in basic arrhythmias, dysrhythmia, ECG/EKG or Monitor Tech on hire.
• Current BCLS (ARC or AHA) certification upon hire and maintain.
• Six (6) months previous experience as Monitor Technician preferred.
• Training on Violence in the Workplace prevention within 90 days from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors.
• Transcribe physician orders in the absence of CPOE/EMR.
• Verify that lab and radiology tests have been ordered and completed.
• Prepare and maintain unit records and patient charts.
• Order supplies for the unit and assist nursing staff as needed without distracting from primary duties.

Responsibilities

The Monitor Tech is an unlicensed person who performs indirect care in the department setting. Monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors. Meets the communication needs of the department. Transcribes physician orders in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation system. Verifies that lab tests and radiology tests have been ordered and done. Prepares and complies records in the unit. Orders supplies for the unit and prepares and completes each patient's chart for necessary forms needed on a daily basis. Able to assist nursing staff with indirect patient care duties as long as the activity does not distract from primary

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Current certification in basic arrythmias, dysrhythmia, ECG, EKG, or Monitor Tech on hire.


• Current BCLS (ARC or AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status, i.e. full-time or part-time. The current compensation range for this role is $25.70 to $25.70. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
