Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities

1. Review patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances.
2. Observe screen of cardiac monitor and listen for alarms to identify abnormal variations in heart rhythm.
3. Inform supervisor or General Duty Nurse of variances to initiate examination of patient.
4. Measure length and height of patient’s heart rhythm pattern on graphic tape readout, using calipers, and post information on patient records.
5. Answer calls for assistance from patients and inquiries concerning patients from medical staff.
6. Prepare documentation regarding evaluation results, progress reports, and personalized treatment plans.
7. Perform relevant duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• HS Diploma
• Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course required
• Able to pass telemetry pre-test

Preferred:

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Current Monitor Tech experience and/or recent clinical experience preferred
