Job summary

AdventHealth in Zephyrhills, FL is seeking a Monitor Technician to observe and document EKG patterns, notify nursing staff of abnormalities, and ensure alarms are functioning per policy. The role supports quality standards and performance improvement initiatives in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Candidates should have monitor tech experience or completed AdventHealth training, strong English communication, and basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Monitor technician experience or completion of AdventHealth Monitor Technician training or equivalent.
• Must read, write, and speak conversational English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Pleasant telephone manner and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe monitors, recognizing and documenting normal and abnormal EKG patterns, and promptly notify nursing staff of any abnormalities.
• Maintain monitor alarms per policy, verify that alarms are set and audible every shift, and troubleshoots monitors as needed.
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities, demonstrating accurate documentation and monitoring of activities, and supporting departmental quality standards and initiatives.

Job Description

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Monitor technician experience or successful completion of AdventHealth Monitor Technician training program or equivalent. Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English. Proficiency in the English language. Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Pleasant telephone manner and organizational skills.

Education

High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Work Experience

1+ monitor tech experience [Preferred] Medical terminology [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]

Pay Range

$16.30 - $26.08
