Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Sioux City is seeking a Monitor Tech to provide continuous telemetry surveillance, interpret rhythms, document findings, and alert the care team to significant changes.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma, BLS within 90 days of hire preferred, and prior Monitor Tech or CNA/EMT experience; strong teamwork and adherence to unit guidelines are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS within 90 days of hire preferred.
• Nursing assistant, EMT, or Paramedic certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patient heart rhythms.
• Interprets heart rhythms and documents tracings per unit guidelines.
• Communicates changes in heart rhythms and/or capnography to the provider.
• Cleans and tracks all telemetry devices.
• Cleans and tracks all vocera devices.
• Ensures accommodation codes are up to date.
• Performs 12-lead EKGs as ordered.
• Assists with telemetry monitor positioning as needed.
• Demonstrates UnityPoint Health values and adheres to policies and safety guidelines.

Monitor Tech

UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's - Sioux City Downtown

Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week, 12 hour shifts

Schedule: Days 6am-6pm, rotating weekends and holidays

Provides continuous surveillance of patient telemetry, accurately interprets cardiac rhythms and related parameters, documents findings per protocol, and promptly alerts the care team to significant changes.

Education:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.

Experience:

• Previous Monitor Tech experience preferred.
• Previous nursing assistant experience preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Certified in Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire
• Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Certification Paramedic Certification preferred
