Job summary

Medical City Arlington, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Monitor Tech PRN to oversee patient monitors and promptly inform nursing staff of critical changes. The role requires basic rhythm interpretation and professional communication to support rapid response to cardiac, stroke, or respiratory events.

The position emphasizes timely collaboration with physicians and nurses, with no travel required and no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support training is required within 30 days of start date.
• No travel is required for this PRN role.
• No prior clinical experience is required to apply.

Responsibilities

• Views patient monitors on a continual basis and informs nursing staff of significant changes.
• Communicate rhythm changes to staff nurse or charge nurse.
• Perform simple arithmetic calculations as needed to support monitoring tasks.
• Understand inter-relationships of hospital departments to coordinate patient care.
• Organize and complete tasks and anticipate needs of physicians and nurses.
• Communicate patient and family needs professionally and promptly in potential acute situations.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Views patient monitors on a continual basis and informs nursing staff of any significant changes in activity immediately; accesses assistance in responding to noted changes in patients and others exhibiting signs of a heart attack, stroke or respiratory distress. Requires basic understanding of dysrythmias. Mastery of the English language and requires knowledge, ability, and judgment to:

• Make critical rhythm interpretations




• Communicate rhythm changes to staff nurse or charge nurse.




• Numerical ability to make simple arithmetic calculations




• Apply basic understanding of the function and inter-relationship of each hospital department.




• Organize and complete work assigned




• Anticipate the needs of physicians, nurses and other hospital departments




• Communicate the needs of patients, families and visitors in a professional and timely manner recognizing life threatening signs and symptoms of heart attack, stroke and respiratory distress.
