MountainView Hospital in Las Vegas is seeking a Telemetry Technician to provide responsible 24-hour cardiac monitoring for designated patients and participate in sepsis surveillance. The role requires knowledge of arrhythmia interpretation, growth and development across the lifespan, and the ability to interpret data to identify patient needs.

Competency checklists are completed at hire and annually. Applicants should have a High School diploma or equivalent and ideally complete a Health Unit

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Telemetry Technician will provide responsible 24 hour cardiac monitoring of designated patients. The Telemetry Technician will also be responsible for surveillance, identification and notification of potential patients that present with a suspicion of sepsis. These patients are located in all the adult areas of the hospital. The telemetry technician must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that is appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. The telemetry technician must demonstrate knowledge arrhythmia interpretation, principles of growth and development over life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of patient medical status and functional abilities and interpret appropriate information needed to identify patient requirements relative to his/her age specific needs. Provides care needed as described in department policies and procedures.

Completes a competency skills checklist upon hire and annually thereafter. They must be able to demonstrate computer literacy. The telemetry technician is to notify bio-med when a monitor is broken or malfunctioned. Request telemetry supplies such as patches, wires, batteries, and others. Relieve each other for breaks.

What qualifications you will need:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Prefer graduation from an accredited Health Unit Coordinator Program, Monitor Technician Program or Hospital conducted on the job training program.

Experience: One-year experience in an acute care facility preferred.
