Responsabilidades

• Observes and reports patient's status changes in cardiac rhythm.
• Responds to telemetry alarms consistently, calls other units as needed.
• Does not leave monitoring station unattended.
• Is able to recognize lethal rhythms.
• Is able to pass rhythm strip test every two years.
• Updates patient information in telemetry log. Prints strips per policy and informs units.
• Monitors telemetry patients for appropriate orders and ensures expired telemetry strips are returned or reordered.
• Assists with patients only if someone can cover station.
• May feed, transfer, move and reposition patients.
• Makes occupied/unoccupied beds only if station is covered.

• Education
  • High School Diploma, EMS background, nursing school in progress
  • Certified Nurse Assistant or Medical Assistant
• Licensure
  • Training/equivalent experience as a secretary, CNA or Medical Assistant preferred.
  • BLS within 1 yr of employment and annually required.
  • ACLS encouraged, monitor interpretation class/test annually.
• Experience
  • 1 - 2 years experience preferred.
