Job summary

MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center is seeking a telemetry monitor technician to track and report patient cardiac rhythm status around the clock, interpreting changes in real time and communicating them to the bedside nurse.

You will interpret telemetry strips, disseminate findings to the care team, and ensure telemetry boxes and supplies are stocked across cardiac units, while upholding patient confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED to enter into a hospital training program required.
• Associate's degree in EKG Technician preferred.
• Medical knowledge and EKG interpretation preferred.

About the Job

General Summary of Position

Monitor and report patient cardiac rhythm status twenty four hours a day; seven days a week. To interpret and communicate changes in a patients cardiac rhythm in real time to the bedside nurse.

• Interpret telemetry strips and disseminate to bedside nurse.
• Stock and maintain telemetry boxes and supplies required for telemetry monitoring on all cardiac units.

Minimal Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED to enter into a hospital training program required and
• Associate's degree in EKG Technician preferred and
• Medical knowledge and EKG interpretation preferred

Experience

• Less than 1 year Work related experience required

This position has a hiring range of

USD $18.40 - USD $29.74 /Hr.
