Job summary

Ardent in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a night-shift, full-time Central Telemetry Monitor Technician to join our team. You will provide continuous ECG monitoring, interpret arrhythmias and coordinate care with a Virtual RN when needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, proficiency with software, and completion of the cardiac monitoring exam. BLS certification within 14 days is required; an associate degree and prior rhythm recognition experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced ECG monitoring with assessment of strips and arrhythmia interpretation.
• Monitor alerts from patient wearable devices and escalate to a Virtual RN when needed.
• Troubleshoot monitoring problems and implement solutions.
• Identify life-threatening rhythm changes, initiate codes, and measure rhythms accurately.
• Respond to all monitor alarms and manage multiple technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced ECG monitoring with a focus on assessment of ECG strips and arrhythmia interpretation.
• May also be responsible for monitoring alerts from patient wearable devices, including escalation to a Virtual RN.
• Possess troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions to correct the problem.
• Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiate codes, record rhythms during code, continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, and interval measurements.
• Appropriately respond to all monitor alarms.
• Must be able to manage multiple technology platforms and develop collaborative relationships with other staff via remote platforms.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Skilled in a variety of software applications.
• Must complete the cardiac monitoring exam.
• Ability to demonstrate arrhythmia recognition.

• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Associate's degree in a related field.
• One (1) year in the specialty area, rhythm recognition skill set.
