Job summary

Washington Elementary School District is seeking a Monitor - Playground/Cafeteria to help ensure student safety on playgrounds, buses, lunchrooms, hallways and other school areas, while enforcing district rules.

Under direct supervision, you will monitor student behavior, respond to hazards, assist staff during transitions, and maintain a safe learning environment. This part-time position starts immediately at the Phoenix, Arizona campus and follows a 195‑day calendar.

Qualifications

  • Must have CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year of remedial program experience preferred.
  • One year of curriculum, instruction and assessment program experience preferred.

  • Ensure safety of students on playgrounds, buses, lunchrooms, hallways and other school property by enforcing school rules and policies.

Pay Grade: A(Non-Exempt Support Staff Salary Placement)Department: Various

Accountable To: Principal

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Calendar: 195 days

Summary: Under direct supervision incumbents provide for the safety of students on playgrounds, buses, street crossings, lunchrooms, hallways and other school property by enforcing school rules and policies pertaining to student behavior in areas as described above. Incumbents may serve in one or more of these areas. Incumbents may also be exposed to extreme temperatures when working outside.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must receive CPR certification within 30 days of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications:

It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.).
  • One year of remedial program experience;
  • One year of curriculum, instruction and assessment program experience.
