Job summary

Memorial Health is seeking a telemetry monitor to provide continuous cardiac monitoring across adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The role requires understanding medical terminology and arrhythmia detection, with training in physiology and operation of telemetry equipment.

Requires the ability to perform prep, electrode placement, rhythm interpretation, and timely communication of rhythm changes to the RN or MD.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Experience in arrhythmia detection.
  • Must be able to complete departmental training in basic physiology, interpretation of arrhythmias and operation of equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Completes all annual education requirements; correctly identifies life-threatening arrhythmia.
  • Documents on rhythm strips according to established guidelines.
  • Operates telemetry equipment and performs proper prep technique and electrode placement.
  • Maintains a clear picture and logs; hands rhythm sheets to floors for charting.
  • Communicates rhythm changes to RN or M.D according to guidelines.

Overview

USD $17.60/Hr.

USD $28.15/Hr.

Provides continuous telemetry monitoring for detection of arrhythmias and other problems in adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.

High school graduate or equivalent.

Environmental Factors

This position is performed within an environment of minimal exposure to moderate environmental variations, above-normal noise levels, and/or unpleasant substances. This position is performed within an environment of limited exposure to hazardous or potentially injurious elements or conditions.

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must posses visual acuity necessary of observing monitors.
  • The employee will frequently be required to lift, push or pull weight of at least 5 to 20 lbs.
Mental Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work under stress and to organize and adapt to varying work assignments.
