Job summary

Illinois Central School Bus, part of North America Central School Bus, is seeking a School Bus Aide in Waukegan, IL to monitor passengers and assist with loading/unloading.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid state ID.
• Pass a background check, drug screen and medical/physical assessment.

Responsibilities

• Knows the route and remains alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while enroute. Keeps order on the bus.
• Communicates behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver. Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents and students.
• Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks, CSRS and wheel chairlifts
• Assists students in the loading and unloading process.
• Attend all safety and training meetings.
• Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including exiting from the emergency door. May also require physical removal of disabled child from bus.
• Assist driver in completion of required paperwork for District, State, IC SB, etc.
• Cleans the insides of the bus including sweeping, dusting and cleaning windows.
• Other specialized functions as required by contract.
