Consumer Reporter - CBS Sacramento, KOVR-TV, KMAX 31 job at CBS Sacramento, KOVR-TV, KMAX 31. Sacramento, CA.

CBS Sacramento is looking for a Consumer/Money Matters MSJ to lead a promotable franchise and work with consumer volunteers who help our audiences with Consumer-related problems. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of Consumer reporting, including daily coverage affecting Northern Californians’ pocketbooks impacted by everything from inflation, to healthcare costs to retirement planning. The Consumer MSJ will shoot, write and edit vosots and packages with compelling characters; build graphics to explain data-driven stories; front material live in the field or on the news set; and write AP-style digital stories. The Consumer MSJ must be flexible to work different shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Report live and on tape, scripted and unscripted, with clarity, accuracy and confidence

- Collaborate efficiently with a wide range of personnel to build compelling content

- Demonstrate a steadfast dedication to accuracy and fairness

- Write clearly and interestingly, and use video and graphics to illustrate story facts and ideas

- Build sources and enterprise stories in communities across our viewing area.

- 4 years of experience on air.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Social media savviness

- Editing using Grass Valley/Edius and Premier

- Familiarity with Sony camera gear

- College degree or equivalent experience

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Hiring Salary Range: $110,000.00 - 125,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
