Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to build core monetization and ads systems, shaping the infrastructure, APIs, and user-facing experiences for next‑generation monetization products. You will work across the full stack to design scalable 0→1 solutions with a strong emphasis on safety, privacy, and policy alignment.

The role is based in San Francisco and Seattle, with relocation assistance offered.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience building high-scale consumer, enterprise, or ads systems.
Experience architecting distributed systems with high reliability and performance.
Ability to contribute to product roadmaps in ambiguous spaces.
Strong collaboration with Product, Design, and Research.
Experience building privacy-preserving, safe monetization systems.
Bonus: experience in ads systems or monetization-heavy domains.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and scale the core infrastructure behind OpenAI’s monetization and ads products.
Develop advertiser-facing APIs and tools for ads creation, management, and measurement.
Build integrations with external partners for enterprise monetization products.
Architect distributed services that operate at massive scale with strong reliability, privacy, and performance guarantees.
Translate product requirements into high-quality technical solutions with Product, Design, and Research.
Drive 0→1 product development through rapid prototyping and deployment.
Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap for monetization and ads platforms.
Maintain rigorous testing, documentation, and operational best practices.
