Job summary

United Urology Group is seeking a Molecular Laboratory Technician to perform DNA extraction and RT-PCR on patient specimens. Responsibilities include loading PCR, preparing master mixes, and reporting results. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of PCR experience, with MT/MLS(ASCP) or MB(ASCP) preferred.

Travel may be required for regional labs. Candidates must maintain HIPAA compliance, work well independently, and demonstrate strong attention to detail and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• MT/MLS(ASCP) or MB(ASCP) are strongly preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience performing PCR.

Responsibilities

• Perform DNA extraction on various specimen types.

UUG offers outstanding benefits, including tuition reimbursement, health, dental, and vision insurance, corporate discounts, and much more!**Job Description:**The **Molecular Laboratory Technician** is responsible for performing DNA extraction and RT-PCR on patient specimens.**Responsibilities:*** Perform DNA extraction on various specimen types.* Load and run PCR equipment.* Prepare master mix for numerous different analytes.* Accurately and efficiently pipette small volumes of reagents.* Perform daily and monthly QA/QC* Accurately and confidently analyze qPCR results.* Generate and release all final reports.* Perform PCR housekeeping procedures as specified in the SOP’s.* Perform maintenance and basic troubleshooting on all equipment.* Prepare aliquots for shipment as needed.* Accession and gross specimens.* Store and catalog all specimens for designated amount of time.* Keep supplies fully stocked in molecular lab area.* Dispose of laboratory waste and change solutions appropriately.* Train and become proficient in the FISH assay.* Perform other laboratory and office duties as assigned by manager.* Assists the Director in meeting department regulatory agency requirements (CAP, CLIA, etc.).* Maintains accurate logs and records.* Organizes and labels specimens/paperwork and keeps records of tests.Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
