Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years lab experience or Master’s in biology or related field.
• Proficient in molecular biology techniques: PCR, qPCR, extraction, gel.
• Experience developing or validating lab assays.
• Familiarity with DNA sequencing, especially Nanopore systems, and basic bioinformatics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize laboratory assays for pathogen detection.
• Independently design and execute laboratory experiments.
• Troubleshoot issues and analyze data using industry best practices.
• Perform DNA sequencing and basic bioinformatic analysis of sequencing data.
• Contribute to SOPs and laboratory documentation.
• Identify potential funding opportunities and new directions.
• Maintain accurate lab records and documentation.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.
• Present research findings at internal and external meetings.
• Stay current with literature and advancements; contribute to reports.
