Job summary

Synectics Inc. seeks a Molecular and Cellular Biologist to advance multi-omics and systems biology approaches for improving mammalian cell culture performance in recombinant protein production.

Qualifications

• Strong experimental design, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.


• Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques (e.g. aseptic technique, cell transfection, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, electrophoresis, molecular cloning, DNA/RNA sequencing, immunoblotting, FACS, microscopy).


• Familiarity with multi-omics study design, bioinformatics, statistical analysis, and systems biology.


• Strong understanding of molecular cell biology fundamentals including DNA replication, transcription, translation, proteostasis, metabolism, cellular stress mechanisms, and their relation to recombinant protein production.


• Effective written and verbal communication.


• Ability to work well and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Strong attention to experimental rigor, documentation, reproducibility, and scientific integrity.


• Bachelor's or Master's degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, bioengineering, systems biology, or a related field required.


• Zero to two years of relevant laboratory or biotechnology-industry experience.


• Experience with mammalian and/or CHO cell culture, antibody production, multi-omics technologies, molecular perturbation methods, and regulated laboratory environments is preferred.
