Job summary

DuPont Spectrum in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Moldmaker to build precision injection molds and fixtures. You will coordinate planning and resources to ensure on-time completion within budget, troubleshoot mold issues and implement preventive maintenance.

You’ll operate CNC and manual machines safely and track labor costs while collaborating with a cross-functional team. Ideal candidates have at least 5 years in moldmaking, an 18-month vocational diploma, and proficiency in reading blueprints,

Qualifications

• Minimum 18-month vocational diploma in Machining, Tool & Die, or Moldmaking.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Moldmaker or related craft skill work.

Responsibilities

• Build precision injection molds, fixtures and components.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling and resources for mold builds to meet dates and budgets.
• Troubleshoot development and production mold issues; propose solutions.
• Recommend preventive maintenance for development molds.
• Maintain work quality consistent with dept. standards.
• Operate CNC and manual machines safely in the Toolroom.
• Track labor costs in the Tool Room.
• Collaborate with team on projects and shared work.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Responsible for executing the process of building precision injection molds, fixtures and components
• Assist with and/or lead the coordination of the planning, scheduling and communication of all resources supporting the build process to ensure on-time completion to committed dates within budgeted costs
• Responsible for troubleshooting and recommending solutions to development and production mold related issues
• Make recommendations for the on-going preventive maintenance of development molds
• Responsible for producing quality work consistent with department and organizational standards
• Operate all machines, manual and CNC, in a manner that is safe for yourself and any personnel in the Toolroom at all times
• Diligent completion of tracking labor costs in the Tool Room
• Work constructively and collaboratively with others within the organization on team projects and shared work

General Responsibilities

• Maintain clean machines, equipment, and organized work areas
• Responsibility to protect Donatelle confidential information and Intellectual Property
• Follow safety requirements as outlined in the safety manual
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned

Education/Experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 18-month vocational diploma in Machining, Tool & Die, or Moldmaking
• Five (5) years of experience as a Moldmaker or related craft skill work

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and CAD models
• Ability to effectively utilize computers and software necessary to perform job duties
• Experienced in problem solving and troubling shooting
• Fundamental understanding of geometry and mathematics
• Experience in mechanical inspection and metrology
• Good communication and human relation skills

Pay

• Hourly pay range: $27 to $39
• Plus shift differential if applicable
