Job summary

HI-LEX is seeking a hands-on trainer for the plastic injection molding floor in Hudson, MI. The role involves teaching operators proper machine setup, safety practices, and quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications.

You will perform in-process inspections, validate first-piece runs, and drive corrective actions while maintaining a clean, safe work environment and assisting the Team Leader as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years experience in plastic injection molding.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Instructs operators in the safe operation of injection molding machines to meet quality and production standards.
• Performs in-process checks, tests and gaging per control plans and instructions.
• Identifies out-of-spec components and follows hold tag procedures.
• Performs first piece validation for each job and ensures correct material usage.
• Conducts problem solving and corrective actions to maintain process performance.
• Maintains safety, cleanliness and order in the work area; notifies when equipment needs service.
• Supports team leader and fills in for absentees as needed.

Ensures that operators perform work according to work instructions, including proper use of appropriate PPE. Capable of changeovers on all assigned plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment. Follow process set up sheets to ensure parts are being produced to established parameters.KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Instructs operators in the safe and proper operation of all injection molding machines to produce a part conforming to all quality and production standardsPerforms in process checks, tests and gaging as required by control plans and operator instructionsIdentifies out of specification components.
