Job summary

AMETEK Inc. is seeking a Molding Operator on the 1st shift to produce machined parts using molding equipment and inspect parts for quality. You will read blueprints, measure with calipers and micrometers, and ensure parts meet specifications.

The role requires 1–3 years in manufacturing, basic dexterity, and the ability to work in a team or solo. AMETEK offers competitive pay and strong benefits.

We are seeking to add a motivated Molding Operator to our team, on 1st shift.The Molding Operator/Inspector is responsible for producing machined parts by operating a molding machine. This position will also inspect the product produced and determine if it is acceptable and meets quality specifications.

What will you do?

On any given day, your responsibilities would include:

• Working from drawings, blueprints, sketches, verbal or written instructions, work orders, and process sheets.
• Inspecting parts for surface defects and flaws.
• Operating the blending machine to combine raw pellets.
• Positioning and securing threaded cores and/or overmolds into mold.
• Reporting defective materials, scrap, quality problems, or any other unusual condition or circumstance to technician and/or supervisor.

You are a great fit if you have the following:

• High school degree or GED
• 1-3 years of manufacturing experience and/or training
• Reasonable dexterity in hands to manipulate small parts
• Ability to read blueprints and measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers is preferred
• Ability to work well within a team or independently and a demonstrated initiative to drive for results
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
