Job summary

Ericson Manufacturing Company in Willoughby, OH is seeking an experienced Plastic Injection Molding Machine Operator to join our production team. You will operate molding machines to produce high-quality thermoplastic parts, monitor processes, run quality checks, and perform basic maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to meet specs and detect jams or malfunctions.

• Operate or tend plastic molding machines to mold thermoplastic parts.
• Remove finished or cured products from dies or molds and label as needed.
• Handle and trim excess material from parts.
• Turn valves and dials to regulate pressure, temperature, speed and cycle times.
• Start-up and shut-down of injection molding machines; perform color changes.
• Load/unload and inspect parts; report deficiencies to maintenance.
• Maintain equipment and department cleanliness.

Molding Operator

Full Time Production Willoughby, OH, US

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Plastic Injection Molding Machine Operator.The Plastic Injection Molding Machine Operatoris responsible for operating molding machines in accordance with established best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality production of parts. This role involves monitoring processes, performing quality checks, conducting basic maintenance, and troubleshooting issues to maintain optimal machine performance. The operator plays a key role in maximizing machine uptime and supporting continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Available Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (M – TH)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
• Operate or tend to plastic molding machines to mold thermoplastic parts.
• Remove finished or cured products from dies or molds, using hand tools, air hoses, and other equipment, stamping identifying information on products when necessary.
• Handle and trim excess material from parts
• Turn valves and dials of machines to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times.
• Responsible for start-up and shut-down of the injection molding machines??
• Performing the color changes involved with machines
• Loading/unloading and inspection of parts
• Visually check parts for changes in color, texture and conformity with part standards.
• Report any machine deficiencies to molding maintenance.
• Maintain equipment and department clean at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications:

• High school education or equivalent and
• 1+ years of experience operating plastic injection molding machines.
