Job summary

Amphenol Aerospace Operations in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Molding Operator to set up and run molding machines in a brand-new facility. You will perform in-process checks and ensure products meet quality standards while adhering to safety procedures.

The role requires at least 1 year of molding experience, ability to read blueprints, and a focus on maintaining a safe, efficient work environment withLEAN/5S principles. Candidates must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year molding experience.
  • Experience with engineered plastics (preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in set up procedures that create a safe working environment for other team members (preferred).
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Frequent and repetitive use of hands – pinching, grasping, turning of wrists.
  • Push, pull, or lift up to 55 lbs. (preferred).
  • Read and understand job layouts, blueprints, schematics and work from written and verbal job instructions on operations.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with team members.
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of the position including visual checks, machine operation, part and mold assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process checks to ensure product meets internal and customer quality standards.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Setup and operates one or more molding machines for all types of forming and/or sealing molded parts.
  • Exercising skill and care in inserting and loading materials to ensure proper fusion without damaging molds.
  • Handle variations in the molding process due to molding compound conditions.
  • Use tools, fixtures, gauges and measuring devices as needed.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Promote Lean and 5S culture across the site.
  • May run jobs of an experimental nature where methods are not established.

Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for setup, operating, and maintaining all machinery in the molding department.

Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking aMolding Operatorto work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, AZ.

The key responsibilities of thisMolding Operatorinclude, but are not limited to:

  • Perform in-process checks to ensure product meets internal and customer quality standards
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures
  • Setup and operates one or more molding machines for all types of forming and/or sealing molded parts
  • Exercises skill and care in setting of inserts and the loading, cutting, weighing and placing of material to ensure proper fusion without disturbing location of insert pins in order to prevent damage to molds
  • Has to cope with variations in the molding process resulting from the condition of the molding compound
  • Uses all tools, fixtures, measuring devices and gauges necessary to perform the task at hand
  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance activities on all equipment
  • Active participant and advocate of Lean and 5S culture company wide
  • May be required to run jobs of an experimental nature where detailed methods have not been established
